Andy Bree will tell you that he knew all along he'd be sharing a shop with Ryan Hyde. "I had no idea on the "when"...but the "if" was never a question. I knew the time would come."

After years of being colleagues and friends in different parts of the music industry - Ryan as an incomparable builder, Andy as a road tech and shop owner - the time has finally come to unite. 

"We do two things here: build and repair fretted instruments....oh yeah, and we're very funny. We think."

If you're looking for expert repairs on all fretted instruments, you have two guys with years of live music and shop experience to make sure your instruments are playing in peak condition.

And if you're looking for the instrument of your dreams, well, Ryan - R. Hyde Guitars - is in the house. 

Andy is the owner of Braxton Guitars LLC, a repair shop born and raised in the Bok Building in 2016...just one floor up from Braxton & Hyde. Before guitar repair, Andy was a professional guitarist in Philadelphia. 

In addition to the shop life, Andy is a full time live guitar & backline technician, most recently touring with Kurt Vile, Foster The People, Jenny Lewis, Sarah Jarosz, Ani DiFranco, Paul Gilbert, amongst others.

Andy is from the Main Line area and resides in Philadelphia.

Ryan is the man behind the wheel for R. Hyde Guitars. A pillar and visionary in the guild of Philadelphia designers, and a long time member of the NextFab community, Ryan has taken his love for instruments to the next level, creating some of the most unique yet functional instruments around. 

Before setting out on his own over a decade ago, Ryan cut his teeth in the luthier game at Ken Smith Basses in Perkasie, PA. He is also an instructor at the University of the Arts in their industrial design program. 

Ryan is from Kennett Square, PA and resides in Philadelphia.
